New Posters for The Lion King revealed with less than 50 days to go

The Lion King

Disney has just released some beautiful new posters for The Lion King live action remake. With a cinema release date of July 19th, these stunning new visuals were revealed on the 50 day mark.

Featuring Donald Glover (Simba), Seth Rogen (Pumbaa), James Earl Jones (Mufasa) and Beyoncé Knowles (Nala) to name but a few of the amazing cast, each character has been given their own poster. With James Earle Jones making a return as Mufasa, this film will be filled with even more nostalgia. The detail of the animals in this latest imagery is absolutely breathtaking. Directing this Disney remake is Jon Favreau who, we have already seen deliver The Jungle Book, which was amazing. Some of the trailers we have already seen have been incredibly dark, foreboding and majestic.

The CGI animation since The Jungle Book has increased so much that the animals in The Lion King look completely lifelike. With Mary Poppins Returns, Dumbo and Aladdin already been out in cinemas, I think this will be the biggest hit yet.

The Lion King’s 25th Anniversary will be celebrated around Disney Parks this Summer

The Lion King

It is very exciting to see that there will be festivals held around three Disney Parks this Summer celebrating The Lion King’s 25th Anniversary. Being a huge fan of The Lion King, there’s no better way to celebrate and with perfect timing with the new release of the Disney remake by Jon Favreau.

The Lion Kings 25th Anniversary

Disneyland Paris – The Lion King & Jungle Festival

The first park to announce having such festivities was Disneyland Paris. As a huge Lion King fan, this had me filled with excitement to hear that Disneyland Paris was getting its very own season. One season I have always thought would be perfect in the park was finally coming true. I cannot wait to experience this during the Summer. With the film being re-released and The Lion King’s 25th Anniversary of the classic film, it is going to be the highlight of the Summer getting to be immersed in my favourite film.

Rhythm of the Pride Lands

With the refurbishment of Chaparral Theatre, we learnt last year that it would be home to a brand new Lion King show called Rhythm of the Pride Lands. I remember seeing The Legend of The Lion King back in 2005 in Videopolis so, I was very excited to hear this announcement. There’s also a number of other festivities to look forward to as well.

Djembe Drumming Academy

The Lion King Disneyland Paris Drummers

If you’ve eaten in Hakuna Matata in Adventureland before, you’ll be quite familiar with the daily drummers who are a lot of fun! They will be outside teaching you how to play in the Djembe Drumming Academy, and you may even be joined by King Louis or Rafiki!

Timon’s MataDance

Also on the list is Timon’s MataDance featuring Pumbaa too which is also held in Adventureland. This sounds like a lot of fun and will be wonderful and carnivallike in the warm Summer months!

Timon Disneyland Paris

The Jungle Book Jive

Not only does this new festival feature The Lion King, it also features the classic Jungle Book. The Jungle Book Jive will help you find the bare necessities as you discover the Indian jungle in this amazing new musical. Featuring King Louie Baloo and even Mickey, this sounds like the perfect new adventure.

Disney Illuminations

You can also catch The Lion King in Illuminations, during Stars on Parade and in Mickey and The Magician. It’s a great year to be a fan!

Mickey and-The-Magician

Of course, there will be a chance to meet your favourite jungle characters such as Baloo and Timon throughout the season too.

From June 30th – September 22nd.

NEW Signature Experience Announced

It has recently been announced that there will be a signature experience for The Lion King and Jungle Festival at Disneyland Paris starting this Summer until September and will include:

A limited edition mug.

A €15 Gift Card.

The Lion King Signature Experience Disneyland Paris

Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World is also joining in on the fun to celebrate The Lion King’s landmark anniversary. Animal Kingdom is already filled with great Lion King experiences, such as the long-running favourite Festival of The Lion King and Rafiki’s Planet Watch.

There have been new Magic Shots added for your Memory Maker. You may even find some cool shots with the Hyenas which make great memories! 3-dimensional ops have also been added too and are dotted around Animal Kingdom. They look fantastic and one even includes the famous Hakuna Matata log scene. I hope they stay up so I can see them in November.

Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party

There’s an all-new experience called the Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party in Animal Kingdom featuring Timon, Rafiki and even Terk from Tarzan. With music and games this sounds like a lively party with lots of fun to be had held at the Discovery Island Stage and Hakuna Matata! This definitely sounds similar to what we will be getting at Disneyland Paris with Timon’s MataDance!

From January 18th 2019 – September 30th 2019.

Festival of The Lion King Walt Disney World

Disney California Adventure Park

Disneyland California is also joining in on the fun with a celebration announced for The Lion King. It will feature storytellers who will celebrate the story with songs and activities such as dancing and craft. It will be alongside the new film release by Jon Favreau. There hasn’t been much info given yet so I’m guessing it’ll be a miniature celebration alongside previews for the film itself. We will just have to wait and see what’s more in store!

“Tale of The Lion King” Show Announcement

We have finally been given more details on the brand new Lion King show that is coming to Disneyland California Adventure Park this summer. The Storytellers of The Pridelands will be showing us the story of Simba becoming King in a brand new way. With dancing and drumming, new music has been created to capture this alongside the original beloved classics from the movie. It is set to be a roaring celebration starting on 7th June in DCA.

Are you looking forward to all these celebrations? I just can’t wait!

Disney Channel FanFest: Descendants 3 August 2nd Release Date & DescenDance Announcement

Descendants 3 August

On Saturday 27th April, Disney Channel hosted its popular event Disney Channel FanFest in Disney’s California Adventure Park.

This event included live performances from your favourite Disney Channel stars including Zombies Meg Donnelly. A live Q&A session was also had with the cast of The Descendants, which gave us lots of exciting announcements. Also including an exclusive performance from Booboo Stewart who plays Jay in the films.

Descendants 3 Set for August Release

One exciting announcement that was made was which month Descendants 3 will be released. The most highly anticipated Disney Channel Original Movie will be debuted in August of this year. We were also treated to another sneak preview with the first preview shown in October last year in Paris, we have seen new characters introduced over time. This time, however, we got a more in-depth look at Hades (Cheyenne Jackson) who was also on the stage during the Q&A session. He explained how he wanted to create his own take on the beloved character of Hades and how he made his character blend into The Isle of The Lost with the VKs. Disney have finally announced its release date of August 2nd, and have finally launched the first music video and the first song too. It’s Good To Be Bad looks amazing and I cannot wait to see the rest.

Disney’s California Adventure Park

Another exclusive announcement was that a DescenDance dance party will be arriving at DCA for Halloween. Coming to Hollywood Land in September, it will feature all the hit songs from the popular franchise. At Disneyland Paris last October, we got an exclusive Descendants singalong party and it was a lot of fun. This dance party will not disappoint as the music from the films are fantastic and will get everyone in the Villainous spirit!

Auberge de Cendrillon a Royal Breakfast Experience at Disneyland Paris

Auberge de Cendrillon Mickey Waffle

Earlier this year, Disneyland Paris announced that a new one off character dining experience was coming to the parks for breakfast. It was introduced for the Pirates and Princess Festival which, has now come to an end. Introduced for the Pirates and Princess Festival which, has now come to an end, I think it should be a permanent fix.
Auberge de Cendrillon Cinderella

Much like Plaza Gardens character breakfast (that is also in the parks), it has two seatings. One at 8:15am and another at 9:45am. I booked a table for the 9:45am slot as I had previously for Plaza as it had a much more relaxed environment. You could also book this three days prior to your visit.

With the characters, you get Aurora, Snow White and of course Cinderella, all the classic Princesses! I think if it came back I would love to see Suzy and Perla or maybe a Prince just like at dinner. Even a switch up with modern Princesses would be really cool and would make me go back again and again. It was amazing however having all three classics. It is also great not having to visit the Pavilion to meet them and getting food at the same time is fantastic. You can also squeeze in a few attractions during Extra Magic Time if you choose the 9:45am seating.

Auberge de Cendrillon Aurora

Auberge de Cendrillon Snow White

I would advise being as early as you can. We arrived a little late which meant the food came out quite quickly and, as it was, They, however, amended my order for me with no hesitation. The food was a good mixture but still being a really fussy eater there wasn’t much I could eat. I was mainly there for the Mickey Waffle and Princesses so, it was still a magical experience all round!

Auberge de Cendrillon Food Option Two

The Mickey Waffle was delicious much like the ones at Walt Disney World. You also get potatoes, sausages and scrambled egg. It is worth telling them in advance if you have any requirements. They are very accommodating and will get it right for you. They had put Mushrooms on mine initially so I just kindly asked them if I could have a new plate without them on. You also receive little fruit dishes on the side and an array of Croissants too with hot and cold drinks.

Overall, my experience was magical and I highly rate this breakfast. I do hope they extend it as it is a lovely alternative to Plaza Gardens and another beautiful place to have breakfast within the parks.

Auberge de Cendrillon Outside

I would love to hear your thoughts on this breakfast, would you ever try it out?

Descendants 3 Disney Channel Trailer & Teaser Released

Descendants 3 Disney Channel

The Descendants is one of the most popular Disney Channel Original Movies since the likes of High School Musical. With two movies already, a third and final one has been announced which is set to be released in July this year. We recently got shown visuals of the cast on Valentine’s Day as the social media accounts dropped photos of Mal (Dove Cameron), Evie (Sofia Carson) and the rest of the Descendants. There was also a teaser trailer released showing a new Villain Hades who was a huge rumour to be in the latest instalment.

Descendants 3 Disney Channel Preview at Disneyland Paris’s Halloween Soirée

During the Halloween Soirée at Disneyland Paris last year, we had our first representation of The Descendants at any Disney Park. Of course, I had to check it out as I went dressed up as Mal and, I am glad I did. During this special one-off singalong show, they showed us the first-ever preview of the upcoming movie, featuring a special message from Dove Cameron herself.

Descendants 3 Soirée Preview

Descendants Disneyland Paris

In this preview, it is clear that Hades will be making an appearance in the final movie. Theories have been going around saying that Hades will be Mal’s Dad and this is an interesting take as we have only seen the Villains Mums so far with Kristin Chenoweth playing the iconic Malificent. Lots of characters are to return with Uma and Harry Hook plus some new faces too.

On Friday the 15th of February, Disney Channel dropped the first teaser trailer on Twitter just a day after the cast visuals. It looks fantastic and it looks like Dr.Facilier will be making an appearance as well. Prince Ben will also return in the final movie with a big shock which is shown in the first trailer that was released.

A month later and we are given a closer look at the movie. It’s taken an even darker spin on the story so far and I cannot wait for this to be released in July.

Disneyland Paris Annual Pass Party Guide Tips & Tricks!

Disneyland Paris Annual Pass Party Guide

When it comes to being an Annual Pass holder at Disneyland Paris, you get some really amazing benefits. Last year came special exclusive Annual Pass Parties, with the first being the Tower of Terror’s 10th Anniversary. Being only open to Infinity holders, the more recent ones have been open to other pass holders too where they could also bring a plus one.

They are held four times a year and the first of 2019 coming up which, is themed to the successful Pirates and Princess Festival. These have improved over time and this one is set to be spectacular. These events can be a bit confusing if it’s your first time so, I thought I would put together a little guide. I do hope you find it useful!

Buying Tickets

To buy tickets to these events, you will receive an email when they announce the event if you have an Annual Pass. The link is personalised to you so only you can use it as you must be a member in order to purchase these tickets. For plus ones, the pass holder can choose to select multiple through the link. You can also buy these at the park in the Annual Pass office (Au Bureau Pass Annuel) in Discoveryland and at City Hall. I advise buying these in advance as parties can and are known to sell out.

Ticket prices are usually around €42 and discount can be applied.

Upon Arrival

When arriving, there will normally be two queues where one will be used for easy access passes. Make sure you have plenty of time for these queues as it gets quite busy and they do not let you in until right on the dot of the start time. Sometimes they can go over the start time too so leave enough time to get there for a good spot but not too early as they may turn you away!

Things you’ll need to have out ready (a good tip is to keep everything out until you’re in the park itself as things get checked a few times).

  1. Your Annual Pass (which gets checked by Guest Flow and then scanned at the turnstiles like a normal park day).
  2. Your party ticket (if you have it printed or sent by post you will need this as well as your pass. If not you will be refused entry and asked to go and print it off by Guest Services).
  3. PhotoPass (there may be strict rules on the night that you may only be allowed PhotoPass photos taken at a character location to keep the queues efficient so. it is always necessary to have these on hand too).

Tip: I always wear a lanyard for parties as it keeps everything in one place. Also to note on arrival at annual pass parties is that there is always a token or gift given when arriving so, make sure you get yours!

Food

At events, the food places are limited and will be busy. I would always suggest trying to eat before the event starts so you don’t waste time at the party by queuing for food instead of your favourite character.

I would check which ones are open before you head to the event, so you can plan where to eat before you go. Some of the restaurants will have stopped serving food by a specific time too.

Merchandise

Annual pass parties also like to have exclusive merchandise on the night. At the Tower of Terror event, it was absolute chaos as things were of a limited edition. These have since been improved and we are told in advance of what the items will be so you can prepare if you really want the exclusive item or not which is great.

Tower of Terror

Characters

These events will always have some form of character meet on the night after the first event the feedback wanted them. They will try to match the theme of the evening too. Orange and Green passes are accepted for queues as well which is fantastic.

Photos

It is worth finding out before the event if you can take a personal photograph as well as the official PhotoPass photo. Prioritise your meets as you will not be guaranteed to get every character on the night. The queues get long and when it doesn’t seem like a lot of people in attendance, these lines can build up pretty quick. So my top tip is to have a game plan and stick to it and only meet the ones you really want to. If you have no expectations, you will not be disappointed.

25th Anniversary Disneyland Paris

Shows and Entertainment

Opening Ceremonies

At every party, it is occurrent that there will be some form of opening ceremony to kick start the event in style, much like Mickey’s 90th and the 25th Grand Finale. I love watching these but, it is good to stand in a place where you can easily access your first meet of the night or show.

There is always some form of show and they do not disappoint! Sometimes there might be a bit of confusion of where to stand for these shows so I do recommend getting there as early as you can for a good spot. Finding out which shows to prioritise is a must too so, you can plan where to stand in good time.

Mickey's 90th

Also, dependant on which characters have long lines, you may choose shows over characters or characters over shows to maximize time which, is another top tip.

It is impossible to do it all but have a good balance. These shows may also be canceled due to weather.

Attractions

If you’re not a fan of shows or characters, then this is the time to hit the attractions with hardly any wait time at all! Most of them are open on the night too and with parties starting to become more popular in Disneyland Park, nows the chance to ride Big Thunder Mountain!

I hope this guide sums up some questions for you with the next party being Pirates and Princess being just around the corner too. My last tip is to enjoy yourself! Don’t go in with any expectations and just have a fun night and you won’t be disappointed! Are you going to try an event or been to one before? Let me know your thoughts.
