2018 is nearly here so, I thought I’d take a look back at some highlights from 2017. A year of saying yes to new adventures, trying new things and living in the moment.

Dubai

Dubai

Starting the year off in a whole new place, Dubai. A beautiful city which is very grand. A great place to try new things. I thought I’d never go on a bumpy ride through the Dunes, see camels and eat dinner under the stars in the middle of nowhere meeting new people. One thing I love about travelling is new experiences and being out of my comfort zone, and this place gave me quite a few opportunities.

Canada

Vancouver-Stanley-Park-Bike-Ride

As well as visiting new places, it’s also great to go back to some favourites too. I was lucky enough to visit Vancouver again this summer at the start of my three week road trip through the Rockies. It was great to be back in one of my favourite cities and be familiar with places, it felt like being home. This time I got to explore the city in different ways, one of which was a bike ride through Stanley Park, which was definitely one of my favourite days of this year.

I also got to experience the beauty of Mother Nature, with her beautiful turquoise lakes all across Canada. From Moraine Lake and Lake Louise to little hidden lakes and to one giant waterfall.

Chipmunk-Moraine-Lake

Northern Ireland

This year I also got to experience Northern Ireland. My Grandad came from here so, it was interesting to see where he grew up and see some famous sights like Giant’s Causeway and the Titanic Museum.

Disneyland Paris

Another place I return to often is none other than Disneyland Paris. With four trips this year and one more to go, this place is my home away from home. I’m so lucky to have this place it has bought me so much magic and friendship this year. I have also pushed myself to go on rides I usually wouldn’t. Ticking off quite a few from my list (which you can view here), I am now glad to say I have experienced the new Pirates upgrade along with Peter Pan. Maybe Big Thunder Mountain is my next goal for 2018.

It’s been quite a special year celebrating it’s 25th Anniversary. A day I’ll never forget. I cannot wait to ring in the new year here this weekend. It’s looking to be quite the spectacular.

Elsa-And-Anna-Disneyland-Paris

Visiting Disneyland Paris this year has felt like a brand new park and, I’m so glad I experienced my first ever Christmas trip with it’s new shows and entertainment. Being an Annual Pass holder has been fantastic for 2017 and I can’t wait to see what 2018 brings to the resort.

Walt Disney World

Gaston-Walt-Disney-World

This year I also got to return to Walt Disney World in Florida. Ten years since I have returned but, a lot has changed since then. FastPasses, PhotoPasses, Magic Bands also, a new Fantasyland. It felt like a first visit. The magic was truly real. I got to experience my first ever Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and that was a dream come true. Dressing up as Belle whilst meeting Belle and Gaston, trick or treating and raving with the characters from Monsters Inc. not forgetting the fabulous Hocus Pocus show which was everything.

I also got to meet Anna and Elsa and went on Frozen Ever After and experience lots of character meals like the new Bon Voyage Breakfast. Also reminiscing with a few old favourites like Fantasmic and The Festival of The Lion King

Meet-Elsa-Epcot-Walt-Disney-World

Thank you for following along with my adventures this year. I hope 2018 is filled with them and new experiences. Maybe Paris and a trip to New York and hopefully somewhere completely different!

Epcot’s Norway Pavilion, Frozen – Walt Disney World

Frozen-Summer-Haus-Epcot-Detail

In September I finally got to experience the Norway Pavilion in Epcot. Frozen is one of my favourite Disney films and if you love it to, you won’t want to miss it. The incredible detailing of the Pavilion makes you forget that you are in Disney World in Florida and transports you to the city of Oslo.

Here is where you can meet the famous Frozen Sisters, Anna and Elsa. You can also ride on Frozen Ever After which, is the most beautiful ride I have ever been on. Let’s hope Disneyland Paris gets something similar in the future.

Sommerhus Meet Anna & Elsa

The interaction with Anna and Elsa was so magical and worth waiting for, and the PhotoPass Photographer captured some great moments. The queue’s aren’t that long anymore either so, make sure you go and visit them in their home! The day we visited, we got really lucky as Kristoff was hanging around the Sommerhus. Hopefully, he will be placed there for the future.

Norsk Kultur Exhibit

Once you’ve met the Frozen Sisters, make sure you head next door to Norsk Kultur which, is a Frozen inspired Gallery. Here you can see where the Animators got their inspiration from for the film. I am glad I popped in here, it is worth a visit.

At the Pavilion, there is also a little bakery which is filled with amazing treats from Norway and cupcakes that look like the Trolls. The smell from the bakery is delicious, I’m sure Anna and Elsa approve of the chocolatey treats sold here.

Make sure you also pop into the gift shops. Not only do they have Frozen merchandise but, they also have gifts from Norway too!

Frozen Ever After

The Frozen attraction itself is something I was rather hesitant of riding but, with encouragement I managed it. If you feel motion sickness no need to worry for this ride. The queue’s theming is amazing as it makes you feel like you are in the city of Arendelle. Make sure you spot the Northern Lights too. The visuals are breathtaking and you are fully surrounded by them. There are a few drops and one that goes backwards as Elsa pushes you out of her Ice Castle and, you come face to face with Marshmallow. Olaf, Kristoff and Sven are also present and the music is beautiful. I recommend getting a few FastPasses for this wonderful ride as the wait time can be up to 80 minutes.

Frozen-Ever-After

Frozen-Ever-After-Ride

The Norway Pavilion is definitely my favourite out of all the ones I visited at Epcot. It has made me want to visit the real city of Oslo in the future, to see where all the inspiration of one of my favourite Disney films came from in real life.

Have you visited this wonderful Pavilion in Epcot before? Let me know your thoughts!

A Day At Animal Kingom – Walt Disney World

The-Tree-Of-Life-Animal-Kingdom

The-Tree-Of-Life-Animal-Kingdom

Animal Kingdom is by far my favourite park at Walt Disney World. It is truly breathtaking with its vast scenery. You really do feel like you’ve been transported to Africa with it’s Kilimanjaro Safari. You want to keep on exploring and earn your Wilderness Explorer’s badge. Which you can do when you visit Russell of course.

Kilimanjaro Safari

Start your day off with a Safari. Animals like to sleep all day, especially in the heat. I recommend booking a FastPass for 11am even earlier if you can. We didn’t see any Lions however, Cheetah’s, Wildebeest and Giraffe’s were roaming about! If you have motion sickness it can get quite rocky but, it isn’t too bad just hold onto the sides of the truck. If you’re a Lion King fan you wont want to miss this experience.

Tree Of Life

Tree-Of-Life

Next, head over to the amazing Tree Of Life. This beautiful tree has many animals carved into it. You can find Tarzan and Turk wondering around this area!

Pandora – The World Of Avatar

Avatar-Pandora

This newest edition to Animal Kingdom opened in May of this year. Seeing Pandora for the first time was incredible. Without being a fan of the film Avatar, the land was still awe inspiring and worth a visit. The plants were extraordinary, there was lots of detail to make them other-worldly. Even at nighttime they glow in the dark. You need a full extra day just to explore Pandora to take it all in.

Pandora-Walt-Disney-World

Avatar-Plants

World-Of-Avatar-Walt-Disney-World

The structures were breathtaking. Disney have really out done themselves with this new immersive land. The best part is, even if you don’t know much of the world of Avatar, it is beautiful in its own right. Not only do the plants glow in the dark everything does, including the ground. You can also get glow in the dark cocktails.

The Na’vi River Journey ride was outstanding and something everyone can go on. The Flight Of Passage is a simulator ride, and not one for the faint hearted. This was perfect for those who can’t experience those sorts of rides. It was as slow as Small World and definitely not one to miss.

Avatar-Waterfall-Pandora

Make sure you pop into the gift shop where you can buy yourself a Banshee.

Festival Of The Lion King

Festival-of-The-Lion-King-Walt-Disney-World

You can’t go to Animal Kingdom for the day and not see this fantastic show The Festival of The Lion King. You don’t even have to be a huge fan of The Lion King to enjoy it. You don’t want to miss it. It’s shown several times a day. This interactive show will have you singing and clapping along to the songs. Will you be in the Lion section? Or perhaps the Warthog section? It tells the story in a unique way.

Tusker House Character Dining

Safari-Mickey-Tusker-House

This is a great dining experience. Tusker House is a buffet filled with African flavours. If however, you are a fussy eater, always ask the waiter to cater for you. Highly recommended for the characters, meet Mickey, Daisy, Donald and Goofy in their Safari outfits to complete your evening at Animal Kingdom.

Character Meets

At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you can meet lots of characters. You can meet Pocahontas, Tarzan, Turk, Flick and Russell from Pixar’s Up. They are all really fun meets so make sure you pick up a park guide so you don’t miss their time slots! Also you can head over to Rafiki’s Planet Watch where you can meet Rafiki too.

Rivers Of Light is the newly anticipated nighttime experience at Animal Kingdom Park. You can get a reservation for seats when booking Tusker House as it gets quite popular. It is worth seeing once so make sure you get a reservation for this beautiful show to end your day at the park.

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party 2017 – Walt Disney World

Gaston-Walt-Disney-World

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

This year I attended my first ever Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and, it was the most amazing experience. I will never forget it. I thought I would share my highlights and tips with you incase you were attending any of them this week leading up to Halloween as there’s still time!

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

Character Meet and Greets

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

Meeting the characters in my costume is something I’ve never done before. You get such amazing reactions – especially if you’re dressed as them! This year, I wanted to do something a little different than my big puffy Cinderella dress. I decided to be Village Belle from this years Beauty and The Beast remake.

On the Friday it poured down but luckily, they were meeting in Gaston’s Tavern – always look around that area! They will always be out if it rains, just inside. It made my trip meeting these two in my dress. I also asked Gaston if he had his five dozen eggs that morning – he did!

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

On party nights, you can meet talking Mickey in his Halloween outfit and, that left me in awe. It’s such a special meet already but, I wanted to meet him in his costume and he was so adorable it made me cry. Such a special touch to the night and a nice surprise. Also, the queue was empty near the end of the night so I highly recommend making this meet on your way out!

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

I have always wanted to meet Tarzan, I didn’t know you could meet Turk and Jane on a Mickey’s Not So Scary so I was very excited! They are situated in Adventureland and if you go after Hallowishes the queue isn’t too bad!

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

Next is Cruella! She was fabulous – just promise her some puppies and you’ll be on her good side! She’s not one to be missed and a first meet for me. She’s located in Storybook Circus, make sure you pop by!

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

Also located in Storybook Circus is Minnie and Goofy. They were ready for some trick or treating in their amazing outfits.

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

Just round the corner from these two is Donald and Daisy in the cutest Pumpkin outfits ever.

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

Finally, in Tomorrowland, you can meet Lotso from Toy Story 3! He didn’t smell of strawberries though.

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

Photo Opportunities

There’s lots of spooky stuff happening around Haunted Mansion and I happened to bump into Madame Leota herself! She was awesome keep an eye out for her. A highlight of the night.

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

There are lots of PhotoPass opportunities throughout the night. I thought this one by Haunted Mansion was really cool, and a nice touch! The queue wasn’t long either.

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

Entertainment

Monsters Inc Dance Party

In Tomorrowland, the Monsters Inc Dance Party took place in Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café, and it was lots of fun. Getting the chance to meet Boo was amazing! If I had more time, I would have stayed here most of the night. I did pop in a few times and it is a great place to grab some food. There’s so much to do at a Mickey’s Not So Scary and this is why I suggest doing two parties, there are lots to do and you don’t want to miss any of it.

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

Hallowishes

An incredible addition to a Not So Scary party. Fewer projections and more traditional fireworks, it makes any spooky evening that extra magical!

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

Boo To You Parade

The classic Boo To You Parade left me in shock. It was an excellent parade and featured so many Villains. I was surprised to see the Hyenas from The Lion King, also Oogie Boogie making an appearance was amazing. My favourite floats were Haunted Mansion and Pirates Of The Caribbean with Barbosa. The Wreck it Ralph one was cool too – you could smell candy!

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular

The one thing I’ve been wanting to see in person since they announced it – the Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular, what a show! It was everything I ever wanted it out of it. The characters were amazing and spot on. It felt like the Sanderson Sisters were right in front of your eyes putting a spell on you.

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular

Hocus Pocus is one of my favourite Halloween films and to see it come alive on the Castle stage was incredible. Featuring the Sanderson Sisters and their Frightful Friends, The Disney Villains; Dr Facilier, Oogie Boogie, The Evil Queen, Malificent, Hook and Hades, an all-rounder for everyone! Even if you don’t know the Sanderson Sisters, you do not want to miss it. It won’t disappoint and by the end of it, you’ll be singing all the songs!

Watching this at Midnight was amazing. It is much quieter and the atmosphere is a lot spookier. You can get a great spot near the front of the stage too. The energy really gets you into the Halloween spirit featuring the films classic song I Put A Spell On You ending the night with a bang. You really do feel like the Sanderson Sisters have returned.

Attending Mickey’s Not So Scary at Walt Disney World was a dream of mine and I hope I get to go again in the future. I highly recommend attending if you’re there for Halloween season. You come back with lots of sweets from trick or treating as well as lots of frightful memories!

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party starts on August 17th 2018 and runs on selected dates until October 31st.

A Dream Come True At Cinderella’s Royal Table – Walt Disney World

Meeting-Cinderella-Walt-Disney-World

Cinderellas-Royal-Table-Walt-Disney-World

Ever since I was little it was my dream to eat in the Castle with Cinderella, and that dream finally came true in Cinderella’s Royal Table.

Cinderella’s Royal Table

My first morning in the Magic Kingdom after ten years was truly magical. After watching the morning show and going on a few rides it wasn’t long until our reservation for Cinderella’s Royal Table, I couldn’t believe it. What I once thought was going to be only a dream was about to happen. You line up and wait to be called for your reservation under the Castle, (you have to wait until all your party arrives until you can go up the staircase). Greeted by Cinderella as you enter, she was perfect and the experience is something that you won’t forget. She was so kind and knew I was a big fan. She let me have as much time with her as possible.

Characters and PhotoPass

The characters made this experience extra magical. The PhotoPass Photographers are there waiting to capture those magical moments and to scan your Magic Band, and I was so happy with the result.

It was then time to head upstairs to our table and it was beautiful. You can peer down from the balcony onto Cinderella meeting her guests. You feel like you’re in a real Castle – truly enchanting!

Cinderellas-WDW

We had Jasmine, Ariel, Snow White and Aurora and those were all the ones we wanted to meet too. They come round to your table during your meal. They are very efficient but spend enough time with you to make it special. You don’t feel rushed and they make sure they see everyone on your table.

You get given an adorable little wishing star with a wand, and the guys get swords. It’s adorable and a nice little added touch to remember the experience by.

The Food

The food is quite fancy so if you’re a bit of a fussy eater like me, don’t be afraid to ask the waiter for plain food that’s not on the menu. One thing that impressed me at Walt Disney World is that they will cater to anyone. The desert looked amazing. Such attention to detail – a bit like at Auberge De Cendrillon.

Cinderellas-Royal-Table-Desert

When you’re booking your dining reservations, I encourage you to make sure you get this one booked in. It was quite a hard one to get and I feel very lucky that it turned out okay and we made it happen. It’s not one to be missed. You can’t eat in a Castle every day! One tip I would suggest is to bring your own camera with you, the PhotoPass Photographer is only downstairs with Cinderella.

Bon Voyage Breakfast – Walt Disney World

Breakfast-Rapunzel

Looking for a fun and interactive meal for your next Walt Disney World holiday? I can’t recommend The Bon Voyage Breakfast enough.

On my fourth morning we went to Disney’s Boardwalk Resort which, is stunning in itself and worth a look around. One day I’ll have to stay here! We had a reservation booked with our dining plan and headed to our table where our friendly waitress greeted us. The menu has lots of choices, I went for the Rapunzel Pancakes topped with Maple Syrup of course and I asked for my drink to come with a light up Pascal!

Rapunzel-Pancakes

The character interactions were incredible so much energy for that time of the morning. Best way to wake up EVER! Eric, Ariel, Flynn and Rapunzel such a great combination. They start by introducing them to the whole restaurant and they even do a little parade around with everyone to their songs. I teared up at one point as it was adorable. They then come to your table and play games like tag with a fork who knew right?!

Flynn-Bon-Voyage-Breakfast

I was really impressed with this character meal, probably the best one I’ve done yet!

Bon-Voyage-Breakfast-Menu

There was lots to choose from for breakfast, I hope one day I get to go back and try more of it. The Tower of Pancakes were delicious. The pastries were served in a cute frying pan too!

Prince Eric was my last Prince to meet and he was lovely.

Ariel-Bon-Voyage

Ariel was also very bubbly and fun and it made the morning so magical!

I’d definitely do this meal again. I’ll have fond memories with my friends from this experience. Definitely worth the money and booking a reservation for you don’t want to miss out.
