The End of Disneyland Paris’s 30th Anniversary Celebration

30 years since Disneyland Paris first opened its gates in 1992. This milestone needed a big extravaganza to celebrate and oh boy did they deliver. On the 30th September, we said goodbye to the most popular show the resort has seen yet called “Dream and Shine Brighter.” Featuring a mixture of characters from Pixar and classical Disney animated films. It took fans by storm and had a well deserved send off.

Dream and Shine Brighter

Around the middle of Main Street, Disneyland Paris has a hub stage setup for shows and entertainment in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. Following the likes of Jungle Book Jive, Mickey’s Halloween Celebration and another fan favourite, Pirates and Princesses, this new show followed on and did not disappoint. With a great soundtrack, high energy, amazing dancers, parade floats and pyro techniques, this show was the highlight of the anniversary. It was performed a few times a day and always drew in a big crowd. The energy on the last day will be something that I won’t forget.

Disney D-Light

Disneyland Paris was one of the first Disney Parks to bring out Drones during its firework show. When night fell, this technology wowed everyone with more than 500 Drones lighting up the night sky. Starting off with a simple, but spectacular 30th symbol changing into Mickey’s head, which, lit up beside the Castle. Moving seemlessly in time to the beat of a beautiful rendition of the 30th Anniversary hit song Un Monde Qui S’Illumine (A World That Lights Up). This spectacular nighttime show truly bought out all the emotions.

By the time the anniversary ended, D-Light had evolved with well over a thousand drones in the sky making room for more extravagant effects. Including shapes we were familiar with throughout the 18 months of the celebration, with Miguel’s guitar and Mickey’s special hat.

We also had a special surprise from Disney Dreams. Dreams! was written in the sky with extra fireworks and special lighting. To finish off the picturesque nighttime show,  there were drones saying thank you in different languages, which was a stunning way to end the Anniversary.

Kiss Goodnight

It has become a well known tradition now for Disneyland Paris to have a special kiss goodnight on the Railroad balcony. Much like the 25th Anniversary, this wave goodbye featured Mickey Minnie and friends. This was a sweet send off for a great celebration.

12th April 2022

During the 30th celebrations, Disneyland Paris’s special day was the 12th of April of last year.

A day celebrating Cast Members who truly make the magic and the opening of the park. With the launch of Avengers Campus ahead, and things to come in the future. It was another milestone day for the books.
